We also train coaches, teachers and parents on their roles in children’s personal, athletic and creative development. Karen Lo’s full biogrAPhy

Karen has been involved in competitive athletics for over 19 years.  She was a member of the Hong Kong National swimming team for 7 years and was awarded the Outstanding Swimmers Award by both the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association and the Hong Kong Sports Institute.  Upon graduating from Diocesan Girls' School, she completed her Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong and earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Sport Psychology at Boston University, USA.

Karen is the first Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) in the greater China area of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), USA, the world-leading Sport and Performance Psychology organization with around 500 CMPCs to date that work across the globe. 

She currently serves as Vice-President of the Hong Kong Society of Sport and Exercise Psychology, and sits on both the Athletic Performance Enhancement Sub-Committee of the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled and International Relations Committee of AASP.  She is also a member of the European Federation of Sport Psychology. She is also involved in sport-based youth development programs for the underprivileged.

Karen is the author of Sport Psychology: Building self-confidence and maximizing potential, and contributing author of Mindfulness and Performance. She is also a past column writer for both local and Asian magazines, Sportsoho and Asia Trail. Her commitments to the above highlight her interests in the practice and promotion of applied Sport and Performance Psychology.

Since 2011, Karen has worked extensively with performers and athletes using a client-centered life coaching approach.  Apart from teaching at different local universities, she has also worked with some of the most well-known sport clubs, institutions and National Sport Associations in the region, including Hong Kong Jockey Club Apprentice Jockeys' School, Eastern Long Lions, Hong Kong Golf Association, Hong Kong Baseball Association, Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts etc. 

Karen’s individual clients range from youth to national level -from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland Chinese record holders; to American and Canadian National Collegiate Athletic Association (Division 1) athletes; to high school performers in air pistol, basketball, cricket, dance, e-sport, fencing, figure-skating, lacrosse, lawn bowls, marathon running, rowing, rugby, soccer, swimming, snooker, table tennis, tennis, boxing, track and field, trail running and windsurfing.
